SPIN is a computer database with detailed information about thousands of federal, nonfederal, and international funding opportunities. There is no charge to University of Minnesota faculty and staff for using the system. SPIN requires users to have a University of Minnesota IP address. Therefore, SPIN can easily be accessed from campus computer systems; however, VPN must be installed and run on remote systems to gain access. Information on VPN, its installation and use, and software downloads can be found at http://www1.umn.edu/adcs/network/vpnoverview.html.
If you encounter difficulty connecting to the SPIN database, please contact mbendtse@umn.edu or call 612.624.0583.
